The Kawasaki T5 190 is really the
ultimate kit for the T5.
It requires work to your casings which means it is not an instant "bolt-on"
kit.
It is designed to work with the standard carb and auto-lube right through to
a larger carb on one of our reed manifolds.
It also suits any exhaust from standard through to any expansion chamber.
When ordering this kit you need to send us your bare casing halves, your head
and a T5 barrel. The lining of the barrel you send us can be damaged/scored/seized
because the steel liner replaces the nicasil lining.

With most of the MB Developments iron linered conversion we extend the liner so that the head needs a locating recess machining to suit. This locates the head centrally to the bore and eliminates the need for a head gasket. |

A view of the 5th transfer port through the exhaust port. The T5 exhaust port has a very strange shape to it. We have found a shape that works well with standard exhausts through to full expansion chambers. It has been known for these iron lined conversion to reach 85mph with no problems and without overtuning them. |

The 190 T5 kit uses a 68.5mm piston as standard with rebores out to 70mm. To do this the original alloy liner and plating is bored out and an iron liner is fitted. This means that the casings need opening up to take the larger than standard barrel spigot. |
 |
Transfer ports lose a little area but the increased pumping efficiency of the bigger piston compensates. |

The T5 190 head showing the centralising lip to locate the head to the cylinder. All T5 engines, 172cc and up need the combustion area modifying. If you don't then the compression ratio gets too high and problems occour. The beauty of the T5 head |
