Tyre Rotation for Lambretta

All Schwalbe tyres are designed to be fitted in one direction, apart from the Classic range which can be fitted in either direction. Before fitting always check on the side wall for small arrows showing the direction of rotation.

The easiest way to get the best life from your scooter tyre is to swap the front wheel to the rear and the rear to the front after a number of miles (providing you are using the same size front and back). This is probably best done after the rear tyre has worn down a bit, as the front hardly ever wears out and will last for years. You should regularly check tyres for wear and tear, foreign objects and splits. Always check the tyre inner tube valves for any sign of wear or chaffing (Some tyres can spin on wheel rims if an inner tube valve is at an angle - it is a dead giveaway when you know it was fitted perfectly during a wheel rebuild). If you see any sign of problems or slow punctures rectify them straight away. Always check that front inner tube valves do not foul on the fork bolts. Ideally the valve stem and cap should be at least 6mm clear of the bolt as the valve stem flexes in use towards the fork bolt. This can causes very serious problems, beware! Use 45 degree inner tube valves or short 90 degree valves. Always check this if you are swapping a rear to a front.
