AUTOMATIC RidersAutomatic Scooters have the benefit of a wider choice of different tyre types and compounds to aid handling and performance.
Please read through our frequently asked questions in the sections below. Tyre Size, Tyre Compound, Best Tyre Combination, Wheel Rims, Gearing, Tyre Pressures, Tyre Rotation. Tyre Rotation for AutomaticAll Schwalbe tyres are designed to be fitted in one direction, apart from the Classic range which can be fitted in either direction. Before fitting always check on the side wall for small arrows showing the direction of rotation. The easiest way to get the best life from your scooter tyres is to swap the front wheel to the rear and the rear to the front after a number of miles (providing you are using the same size front and back, many autos have different size or profiles tyres.) This is probably best after the rear tyre has worn down a bit, as the front hardly ever wears out and will last for years. You should regularly check tyres for wear and tear, foreign objects and splits. If an in tube is used then check the tyre inner tube valves for any sign of wear or chaffing (Some tyres can spin on the wheel rims if an inner tube valve is at an angle it is a dead giveaway when you know it was fitted perfect on a wheel rebuild). Any sign of problems or slow punctures need sorting out straight away. Other Automatic Articles: Tyre Size, Tyre Compound, Best Tyre Combination, Wheel Rims, Gearing, Tyre Pressures, Tyre Rotation. |
